We had the pleasure of guiding Sarah through her home building and she sat down with us recently in her new home to shed light on why she chose DC Living and what she loved about her home building journey with us.
What attracted you to DC Living?
We really liked that DC Living, as a slightly smaller builder, was really keen to listen to our ideas and work alongside us. We just found that they were really friendly and the vibe that they offered was really in line with what we wanted when building our first home.

How did you find your experience building with DC Living?
Building with DC Living was actually really fun…we found it really flexible and really easy to communicate both with Gelly and the team. We really liked that being that smaller builder, we weren’t just a number to them. We were really listened to and anything that we wanted changed wasn’t too much of an issue or problem. Everything was really upfront with us and nothing was hidden behind closed doors. If there was an issue, we were told straight away, but luckily for us, there wasn’t anything that really went that way. It was just really nice to have a really smooth process throughout our build
Was there any particular aspect of working with DC Living that you liked?
One thing I really liked is that they allow you to pick your colours before you get to contract. This means that when you get your contract, you’ve got your final number (unless of course, you change things after that). I really liked that because with a lot of other builders, you sign your contract and do your colours after the contract and suddenly you’re paying a lot more money than you originally set out to. I really liked the transparency that DC Living offered from the get-go, and that everything was out in the open. There were no questions that I felt uncomfortable asking as nothing was hidden so I really enjoyed that aspect of working with DC Living.
Was there anything about the process that surprised you?
Working with DC Living was really smooth and the communication was top-notch. To be honest, I think I had that many people ask me how stressed I was building a house and I was hardly ever stressed so I think that was the biggest surprise to me, how nice it actually was.
Would you recommend DC Living to others considering building a home?
I would 100% recommend building with DC Living. They have done a stellar job both in communication and actually getting the final product to us. There is nothing about the house that I don’t like and I just enjoyed every part of the building process right from the start and talking about colours to getting the contract ready through to moving in.
